Client Questions

QUESTIONS FOR CLIENTS

PROJECT

1. What is your budget for the project?

2. What are you looking for?

What problems do you need to solve? How can I help?

3. What are your project goals?

And do you have any long-term marketing goals to go with this?

4. Who is your target audience?

5. How do you want the world to see this project?

Or in other words, what's the vibe you want to give off to your customers? The more specific you can be, the better.

6. What are a few examples out there that are similar to what you’re envisioning?

In other words, what do you find appealing? This helps me hone in on where to go. It’s okay if you’re not sure.

7. What’s an example out there that is NOT what you’re envisioning?

On the other side, what do you find unappealing or simply unsuitable?

8. Do you have an existing design or style to comply with?

We can copy it directly, evolve it, or even start fresh. But I need to know how closely you need to stay within an established style guide. I’ve done the full spectrum.

9. What features in this work do you want to have emphasis?

AUXILIARY DETAILS

10. How soon are you looking to start?

11. When do you need the project completed by?

12. Do you have any deadlines?

13. Who would I be working with or interacting with?

14. Is anything set in stone thus far?

15. In what ways are you keeping your project expectations reasonable?

We all want the ideal, but art is never perfect. Tell me what you’re willing to sacrifice to achieve what’s important to you.

16. What would success look like for the project?

I always work hard to make sure the art is solid, but it’s good to know how you would measure success.

COMPANY

17. What are the core principles of your company?

This question is vital to my ability to know who you are and what you value.

18. What are your future goals as a company?

I ask to know what the company is aspiring to from a branding and emotional standpoint. I want any work I do for you to help you get there.

19. What do you value most in a contractor and collaborator?

This helps me know what you’re looking for in me! 😊

20. What’s your team culture like?

Even if I never meet your team, this question is important to me. I want to know how to compliment and support your group. And this tells me a lot about what you value, just from a different angle.
